Israeli settlers attacked on Tuesday at dawn, al-Mawassi area, west of Khan Younis in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

A local source in al-Mawassi reported that hundreds of settlers hurled stones at dozens of homes in al-Farra area in Khan Younis, and chanted slogans calling for expelling the Arabs.

Fayez Shaath, head of al-Quds Society for Developing al-Mawassi, and the media spokesperson of the al-Mawassi Defense Committee, said that he received several appeals from the residents after dozens of settlers gathered in the area, west of Naveh Dikalim settlement and started attacking the homes and residents.

Israeli army opened fire on peaceful procession, celebrating the Israeli pull out from Gaza, near AL Tufah Checkpoint in Khan Younis in the Gaza strip on Tuesday morning.

The protest took off from the municipality building in Khan Younis and toured the city, before the army opened fire at it.

Protesters raised Palestinian flags and chanted calling for unity of the Palestinian people and factions, and chanted for liberty.

Thousands of Israeli soldiers have been deployed at the start of an operation to forcibly remove Jewish settlers from two sites in the northern West Bank.

Earthmoving equipment has been seen clearing the approach to one settlement, Sanur, where hundreds of militants have fortified buildings.
