Gas or Electric Hob?

I don't like gas ovens. Just hobs.

I prefer electric ovens, because they are more even.

My parents' fancy cooker has a separate (electric) oven to warm the plates! To warm the plates!! Even I, who refuses outright to apologise for my middle class core, find this a little unecessary.

They've also got six different (gas) hobs, one of which is specifically designed for woks. It's bloody Star Trek that thing

what is this nonsense about making rice in a pan being difficult or requiring looking after?!?!? honestly...

No-one claimed it was difficult. But you can buy a mini rice cooker for under £30, and it turns out perfect rice every freakin' time at the push of a button. I'm absolutely certain that you've got kitchen gadgets more useless than that.
