This news is quite bemusing. Monmouthshire has been "officially" part of Wales since the 74 restructuring but has been regarded as Welsh for, as someone has said, hundreds if not thousands of years.
Are the English Democrats hoping no-one will notice, at the top of the ballot paper, the words "National Assembly For Wales", followed by a box for the "English Democrats" ?!
When Rumney was a village outside of Cardiff it fell within the boundary of Monmouthshire and so technically was English. Not sure which came first -Rumney's absorption into Cardiff or Monmouthshire becoming part of Wales again.
when i was at school all the atlases had monmouthshire in england . which wound me up .. and so everyone used to wind me up about it too!
one of the big q.'s with Bushell was how did nazi Nicky Crane end up on the front of the first Oi comp. .. he claims it was just cos crane showed up .. seems unlikely ..
Very unlikely-as Nicky Crane was at the time head of security for the British Movement-and a very well known figure in the Nazi skinhead scene.
Tho he had to leave in a hurry after being outed as a Gay porn star-he died of AIDS a few years later.
Of course it's actually a nonsense. Neither the being ashamed to be English, nor the trend being exclusive to the English, are demonstrated in the essay - or indeed anything other than asserted. Same for Mr Buccaneer's post, mind.
