Fuel prices in your area

Yeah, but where's that and what currency are you posting in?

I should have put that but if you checked my profile you'd see it was in Toronto, so it's Canadian dollars.

Right now it's 1.26 cad per liter. Prices vary from $1.40 cad on the east coast to $1.20 on the west coast.

On Friday, the International Energy Agency in Paris is calling for an extra 2 million barrels to be made available to the Americans.

Canada has just pledged to give the Americans 91,000 barrels per day - and we are supposed to conserve (bet the yanks don't :( )

It's gone up again, that's too bad.

I thought your initial prices were a bit low :)

Well, at least in TO you have public transit. We don't.

Hubby has to commute to work - over 100 km each way. This is really going to hurt us.

But even with the public transit, you are still going to get hit with the increase in consumer products.

Hopefully the pledges of extra oil from the balance of the world will help level the prices out soon.

Yeah, that was my educated guess, although it wasn't too far off.

We do have public transit, it's not the greatest but it's not that bad either. The fares went up recently enough, student is $1.70 now instead of $1.50 and adult is $2.50 from $2.25. I think it's ridiculously overpriced. To go out for whatever and come back it's $5. I just got back from San Francisco a week ago and there for students it was 35 cents two ways, I forget the adult price, but either way it was quite cheap.

Edit: I just checked, since I left the fares went up and now it's 50 cents student and $1.50 adult.

There's Ottawa - Child-1.35 Adult-$2.75 to 4.75 (latter is for the rural areas) single passes.

Student monthly passes are $53 to 61 (the rural thing again).

Still, it's cheaper than trying to own and run a car.

My daughter is going to University in Halifax - Student passes are free. :D

Wouldn't you think though that the petrol companies ( who make more profit the higher the price goes) would say " We are making enough profit these days, you know billions a quarter so we'll hold our profit margins for the next 3 months or so until the Orleans situation is out of the equation",
Likewise Mr Brown (Who gets more the higher the price goes) could say the same with his tax take.
Wouldn't it be nice to see a 'Nice face of capitalism' just once rather than profit 1st 2nd and 3rd!!

Well prices here in Canada yesterday were still 1.27, but in Montreal, they were as high as 1.40. They're really gouging us, huh?
