Fucking wanker drivers

Bloody cyclists, you don't belong on 'our' roads, serves you right for not paying 'road tax', etc. etc.

Seriously though I'm glad you weren't seriously hurt.

After hearing about Jason McIntyre's death yesterday I've had a bit of a reality check, I am actually really sad about it even though I hadn't even heard of him before. It brought a grim reminder of how bloody vulnerable we are.

Be careful out there...

Really? My Air Zound rocks, I've had it for well over a year, still going strong and it stops vehicles in their tracks :D
I just found it unreliable - you'd pump it up to about 90 psi and you'd be lucky to get a couple of blasts out of it, so when you went to use it, it was pot luck whether it worked or not. If I've just been unlucky, I might buy another. Inevitably I only have the need for it when there's no air in it.

a wise man once said that if you've got time to use your horn then you were never in any danger anyway.

yeah. When I got home I stuck on SSN and saw that. Horrible.

Indeed - that was the other thing, especially on a bike. Good for anger management like :D

ps gentlegreen - when are you mass producing your lights for us ?

I need to firm up the design first. I have some major enhancements planned.

The 12 watt fluorescent lamp is a rather wasteful way of providing side lighting - so I reckon I'll have one of these £10 1.8 watt lamps for forward light and angle the existing "mark 1" LEDs a little bit sideways for side lighting.

The mark1 blue-white LEDs (2 watts total) turned out to be so good at lighting the way ahead, I'll be fitting one of these £15, 5 watt 10 degree LED spots in place of the 20 watt "dog poo" illuminator which is pretty hopeless.

I reckon I can get some brighter rear LEDs too.

If I were a driver, or indeed as a cyclist, I'd give this rickety contraption a massive berth in case bits of it - or perhaps you - fell off in front me. Maybe it does do the job!

Ride of the valkyries pumping out of a car stereo soundsystem?
Ride something bigger, heavier and stronger than the average car, ideally with a foot long metal spike pointing forwards :D

It might be a pisser for jaywalking peds, but it's the only means to get wilfully blind drivers to give way. As a slow squishy cyclist you might as well have crosshairs painted on your back

There's the thing ...

Not only is it an over-sized bike with all this weird stuff hanging off it, I'm a 230lb dodgy-looking geyser with mad clothing. :D

I've ridden the same route for 20 years at roughly the same times each day, so pretty well every motorist is probably looking out for me - so it's really not a fair test.

The weirdest thing that happened was when an ambulance followed me as I cycled the wrong way up my street (as I do :o) - right to my front door - presumably assuming I was a paramedic. As it happened, the casualty was only a few houses along.

Ahem.

If I could carry the necessary kit on my back, I'd maybe give that a go :D
It's totally possible :)
I've got one of those T-Amp thingies. Have carried 2 speakers in a backpack to the park on my bike, rinsing drum'n'bass out the bakc of it as I go :)

You may laugh now, but just wait till the shiny new all-in-one-tupperware version rolls off my workbench

You'll all be pleading with me to make some more. :D
