fucking national rail fucking website piece of shit

after spending the best part of an entire morning working all that out, i'm now feeling rather dazed and extremely pissed off. i booked this holiday specifically because it was reachable easily on the train from london. now we've got to endure a nightmare route. i'm so fucked off.

incidentally, i've realised that it's only on weekends that the trains are suspended from preston. so theoretically i could take 2 half days and we could get the train to penrith on the friday, stay at a b&b overnight, and then at the end of the holiday stay at a b&b saturday and sunday nights. but that would cost a lot more :(

If there is no train running - then there will be a connecting bus north from Preston - usually a mix of a stopping bus - and an express bus.Details may not be issued yet - but if they have sold you a ticket - then they have to get you there in a reasonable manner.

There have been problems in meeting the 12 week deadline for inputting altered timetable data to the website. Thats Network Rails task ....

just spoken to my mother. she INSISTS there's a bus from preston to keswick direct, which is fast. i've just done a google and it turns out she means ribble buses' x8 service. which was taken over by stagecoach some while back. can anyone guess what happened next?

Remind me again why people outside London have cars? :D

If you have time, go and see the ostriches - they're great! :)

oh, well someone needs to tell the people who do the longwathby website that!!

They know.

"Brief Encounter is not the tearoom featured in the Trevor Howard/Celia Johnson film, that is at Carnforth, in Lancashire."
