Fucking Indie Culture

And another thing, you should have to suffer for your art, live it all the time , face the wrath of rugby boys.
Not be able to take off your outfit and off you go.

And if that's not enough, the cunts don't do fuck all with their hair, wait til your frigging bald you pricks, you'd wish you'd made the most of it then wontcha?

I didn't think it was particulaly indie myself, I see loads of people wondering around my town centre at the weekends wearing it and i don't get it. If your cold wear a fucking jumper or something.

A critque of Club NME at KOKO rather then just indie culture

I left koko a few weeks ago thinking exactly the same thing as the first poster. We got there pretty early to be greeted by lots of over excited 16 year olds dressed up in a pretty generic 'indie' fashion - stupid buttons and poncey hair galore. On the whole though they were harmless and just out for a good night.

It was a bit later that I noticed more and more wankers, many were walkabout types kokoed off their tits, most were more wankerish indie types who pulled Jarvis Cocker style poses all night without a hint of irony.

I experianced the drink from above treatment as well. To be honest it upset me quite a bit as it was just such wankerish behaviour and something I'd never seen happen elsewhere.

The dance floor was full of inconsiderate pogoing, even in rammed out fabric people manage to keep to their own space. In rock clubs if you don't want to mosh its not forced on you. I saw one fight break out because someone else got annoyed at some prick lost from the battle of Waterloo who couldn't stop jumping into people (and this was on the edge of the dance floor) a right rebel him. Twat.

Randomguy's post did make me laugh, becuase it did seem to true that if you have the look its all smiles and big hugs all around. Casually dropping the smiths into every other sentence seems to help too.

So all in all a disapointingly crap night.

To be fair I was there once before and it was *OK*, maybe I was there on a particuarly bad night.

Indie clubs are not really my cup of tea but it is by far the worst one I've ever been to though.

Never been to Koko but it was always kinda indie wankerish at the Feet First nights when it was called Camden Palace.
I think also it depends which bands are playing but overall I've always preferred a standard old fashioned gig - maybe cos I don't care for indie DJs (ie remix, mash-up, remix, mash-up, ironic blast from the past followed by remix, mash-up, remix, mash-up, ironic blast).
