Fuck me was that Johnny Rotten on a Country Life butter advert?

John Lydon is not racist. And I've no doubt that that whiny talentless whinger Kele Okereke completely misinterpreted whatever deeply sarky 'remarks' Lydon made, and simply didnt understand them, cos hes too stupid.

:)

It wasn't Lydon who allegedly made the comments. It was his entourage. One of them had apparently said: "Your problem is your black attitude". If that's true, I'm not entirely sure how else that could be interpreted as anything but a racial slur, no matter how 'stupid' the victim might be.

Who gives a fuck?did actually find myself doing a double take intially thinking aw what the .....?!! but really it comes as no real suprise.he made a few good records years ago(a kick up the arse musically, granted )never said he was na anarchist(well apart from"i am an anarchist"!!:p)knackers to him Now if it was say Steve ignorant?!

Come off it! now that's be realistic, if it hadn't been for John Lydon singing a song 30 years ago ("Anarchy i the UK") most people on this site wouldn't be calling themselves "Anarchists", "anarchy" would be just a word that we had heard but didn't know what it actually meant, probably assuming it meant something like "chaos".

I think this advert is very humourous and deeply ironic, but it seems to just pass some people by.

Seriously, do the people who are claiming he's being all ironic and knowing actually think he wrote the ad?

Jonny Rotten? In a butter ad? It would be funny if it wasn't so tragic. Tragic if it wasn't so funny. I'm glad I don't watch telly I don't need to be that angry.

Someone paid him to say he liked the taste of some butter, and he said it.
:D

do they still wanna cover him in margarine?

I think this ad's great, and I hate most of them. as far as I'm concerned, Lydon can do what he likes- he's a fantastic entertainer... I bought some Country Life yesterday for the first time ever, and now I pogo round the kitchen to 'holidays in the sun' while eating me crumpets...

I'm a bit disapointed in Jilted John licensing his song 'jilted john' to be used to flog insurance or whatever it is, however...

It's quite funny, seeming slightly incongruous. Bit like John Stalker advertising SunAwnings and Cadburries sponsoring sports events...

He's gets a truck full delievered to his country pad every morning and they unload it through his bay windows. he then coats himself in the stuff and rolls around the floor saying 'I AM PUNK ROCK'. What a cock

Spent all his life slagging of anyone who took money for promoting products and then advertises butter. What a fucking two faced c*nt.

The interview with Bill Grundy when Lydon acted like a ginger Adrian Mole with more swearing is always treated like this totemic moment in telly. When in fact it was just John Lydon being a bad tempered little c*nt. It doesn't help that the likes of Stuart Maconie act as though Lydon is some kind of pop culture prophet instead of the twatty ginger buck toothed moronic grandad he is.

I'm glad someone else has the same opinion as me about the Grundy interview. I know it was quite shocking at the time for the old ladies watching, but if that's what the 'punk attitude' amounted to then it's all a bit embarrassing really.

Lydon has always loved England, and Country Life butter may seem like a toff product at first instance, but living in the country and being a gentleman is a fine way to live ones life and nothing for the Brits to be 'ashamed' of.

Thats why he did it if you ask me, cos he loves England, so this is a deeply ironic way of saying so, and getting paid for it, and the fact that hes getting paid is a 'fuck you' to those who criticise him for doing it.

why shouldnt he do it anyway? hes done more good for England than most people. he deserves to get spoiled for it.

yeah not the many many money. for the IRONY!

yeah. deffo.

His thoughts were:

"Kerching!!!! And a load of people will think I am being ironic, hahahaha"

His thoughts were

'I can get away with anything cos I've always been a mouthy talentless cunt and I'm loaded from it'

'and even better people think i'm cool and discuss it'

'He has always had loads of talent but this is a mistake' :0 |

he's not really, by the way. in case you thought i was telling the truth.

i have no way of knowing *what* he's doing with the money, and i don't care one little bit.
