Fruitstock, London 5th/6thAug - you comin'?

Skim said:
I know corporate sponsorship is part of other festivals as well, but Fruitstock seems to be entirely about marketing. I know they're doing charity stuff, and I even like their products... the festival just sounds a bit dull in a aren't-we-a-lovely-business type of way. And entrance is "free for nice people" – isn't that just super!

Qualitative difference innit. Orange is a means to an end.. we sup with the devil to get what we want. With fruitstock the fruit smoothies are what its all about- a celebration of the smoothies.

You wont catch me there.

What, even if they've got Honeydew on tap?

i rekkon i must've had my head in a bucket of sand last year (or been working) as i've no recolection of this at all

so i may or may not give it a go.

This says it all, really: the seal of approval from a "global trends collborative".

http://www.psfk.com/2005/08/_innocent_drink.html

"We sampled various smoothies, read the (corporate) literature, laughed at the grass covered vans and bought into the company big time (there can't be many companies whose vans are photographed as often as Innocent's). Ben & Jerry's even got people to pay for the brand experience. I'm expecting a lot more brands to jump on this trend over the next few years."

heh, i see your point, but i simply ignore the advertising and take the free music.

Yeah, but before you know it, some PR wag from Innocent will have taken a picture of your happy, contented face listening to the free music and plastered it on the company website showing what a lovely bunch of people came to Fruitstock and you will have unwittingly become a poster boy for the brand experience :p

The least you can do is subvert their neat plans for a so-called "festival"

Everytime you mention ********* you are promoting the ******** brand.

Which is why we're not mentioning it.

We're just planning to go and use a handy bar in a london park on what is usually a sunny day, where some people have set up stages.

Do you see how this starts?

Yeah, I know - you get dehydrated, and shock horror, the only rehydrating things are some sort of corporate fruit-based substance. After all, you couldn't nip back out of the park to the OFFIE DOWN THE ROAD - no, you'd have to buy their stuff...

Could the OP please alter the thread title.

**********. you comin'

or

. you comin'

shall suffice

How about "Regents Park, <date> - you coming?"

(I suggest the Saturday...)

Too bloody right - some have dreads, some have principles.

Hipppies - aint what they used to be.

:(

Not since we worked out we could employ non-hippies to do the work for us while we sat in parks drinking beer, no :D

I wish I was a hippy (with smoothie in my hair), as Sandi Thom once sang.

Hippies are very disappointing

i think you can tell from the shots that we weren't exactly co-operating with their nice little festival.
