Both. My favouites are broad beans, spinach, spuds, parsnips, savoy cabbage, spring greens, mango, pears strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries and the one that fits into both camps, rhubarb.

Mrs Magpie said:Oh yes, apricots....but I like them best stewed or apricot jam...watermelon is refreshing but it's pretty bland...I like galia melon with a little ground ginger sprinkled on it....
I grow a lot of fruit myself because it's either too expensive or totally tasteless in the shops....SubZeroCat said:Well all these fruits are much nicer if they are ripe and sweet. In France where my family are from all the fruits are delicious, I don't bother buying them here cos it's so disappointing. I find watermelon has subtle sweet flavour, it was perfect straight out of the fridge during those hot summers in Toulouse.

I love veg, can eat it all day long, but have a deep distaste for fruit. Can't stand the stuff, and believe me, I've tried.
Other people love fruit, but can't stand veg.
Are you fruity or are you a veggie?

.... but I think most people define fruit as sweet, and veg savory. Now that's what I like to hearFabricLiveBaby! said:I'm on your side 100%.
. over time I've even come to love many of the veg I wasn't keen on as a nipper (raw tomatoes, auberginees, courgettes, etc ... maybe it was because I KNEW subconsciously that all these were actually fruit?)

"oh, you never used to like bananas, you'd always spit them out when you were a baby."
me: "so what did you do then?"
mum: "just keept shovelling them in"![]()
did she inadvertently put me off fruit for life?![]()
That does sound like a reasonable explanation!

SubZeroCat said:I love both. I couldn't just eat junk food cos I'd feel unwell, fruit and veg makes me feel aaalliiiiiivveI like the way my body lets me know what's good and what's not (feeling sick after Burger King etc...)

If I had to choose I'd go for veg cos it's always part of my main meals whereas I tend to forget to eat fruit even though I really like it.

Maggot said:I like veg and love cooking with veg, which is just as well as I'm a veggie. When I eat fruit I usually enjoy it, but I'm no good at getting myself to eat it. This is why I think smoothies are great as I can consume the fruit but in a tasty drink form.
