Friends on E4 just had TWO advert breaks

The first one was quite good because I never knew how the story started. The second one was fun for nostalgia's sake. The third one was repetitive of the others, poorly written, and the novelty was over. Then we watched one from the second series where they suddenly had all these other charcters, and promptly deleted it all in disgust!

I suspect that this is true of many things which people get nostalgic about.

Except the A-Team. I've re-watched it as an adult, and it's still excellent, albeit for reasons entirely different to those I picked up on as a kid - and in fact, I suspect it was originally intended to be enjoyed for those reasons in the first place.

Even as a kid I remember thinking 'WTF' when watching Thundercats: the movie. In it's opening scenes Lion-O jumps out of bed, in full Lion-O uniform, sword strapped to his waist.

You'd at least take the sword off before bed, wouldn't you?

i thought is was illegal to have more then 15 mins(or something) of adverts per hour on uk tele.

was it on at a weird time like 8:20 to 8:50 or something.

Cities of Gold is a cartoon from my childhood which is also perfectly watchable as an adult. Although you might get more out of it if you saw it first time round. :o

Do they ever find the city of Gold?! My dad always used to moan when I watched it 'when are they gonna fined this city of effing gold then ffs?'.

Do they find it? No don't tell me.....oh I want to know!

No. Don't tell me.

I think it is the thread now.

Something had to recue it.:(

You know, when I thought about it, I really wasn't clear on what actually did happen! I vaguely remembered but then asked Crispy, and he couldn't quite remember all the details either, and he actually looked it up on t'interweb. :D:o

So I have the knowledge, if you want a spoiler tagged description. :p

Who actually does have the UK rights to Seinfeld? BBC2 was showing it about ten years ago, after Newsnight  , but now it's nowhere to be seen. It's so weird that despite being just about the most popular US sitcom ever no one knows it over here. (I love it by the way.)

I just got the first three seasons from Amazon for £9.99.

That's 880 hours of Seinfeld for less than a tenner.

I wish there was a DVD menu option to get rid of the slap-bass guitair :(

Similar to what the US get I guess with 2 or 3 ad breaks in a half hour show

They probably didn't have an ad break between episodes instead, Fiver do it as well with Home and Away and Neighbours, there's no ad break between the programmes but there's 2 ad breaks

I don't really get the whole Phoebe thing. I mean she's a great character, but I don't find her moments as funny as Chandler, or Ross.

Regardless of whether you think it funny or not (I think it's shite), surely nobody can think it funny enough to deserve 5 episodes of repeats a day?
