If their first post or posts are rudely slated, they may well (quite rightly) think that this website is cold and unfriendly to new posters.
My first post on Urban was a spam post advertising my night. It was greeted with the then traditional tin of spam jpg posted by blagsta, and a general invitation by a handful of posters to stick my advertising where the glowing rave pants don't shine.
I quickly apologised, read the FAQ, offered free entry to urbanites, and all was well. In fact, on the night of the club, the PA cut out, and it was fixed for me by some urbanites, none of whom I'd met before that night.
I didn't think it was an unfriendly welcome, and I definitely didn't think urbanites were unfriendly or unsupportive after they rescued my night from being a total disaster.

See Onket?

It's not a 'plan' to 'fuck off newcomers' - it's just how the community to reponds and reacts to rude new posters.People are still flogging this dead one are they?!
And yes, Dan, you're right. The plan to completely fuck off newcomers did fail in the case of ianw.
