French Cider

guillotine-400.jpg

French cider is inferior to Asturian cider tho I doubt it's v widely sold in the UK and if it is I bet it's v expensive.

To be totally honest, I think a lot of the really posh ciders are inferior to cheaper ciders, I still really like frosty jack's.

...and it's Strongbow for me tonight

Asturian cider is delicious (more like scrumpy than French cider iirc) but I've never seen it in the UK. What I don't understand is why they always pour it like this, seems like a waste to me:

Speaking of French cider, is there a major difference in style between the Breton and Normandy cidres?

Or maybe they just want to try different kinds of ciders cos they like cider

Maybe they want to drink cider but feel obliged to find a version of it that you can only get from oddbins or ocado so that nobody who sees them drinking it mistakes them for proles.

Something about oxygenation

Oh Frank, Frank, Frank!

For an occasionally intelligent man you do come out with some earth-shattering shit sometimes!

Try it. It's very different.

Tbh it seems plausible enough to me, where do you get French cider that isn't Waitrose or something like that? Surely you starting the thread about not being able to find it anywhere else is proof that what he is saying is true!

There are liquorless souls that follow paths
Where whiskey never ran-
Let me live in a bar by the side of the road
And drink form the old beer can.

Let me live in the bar by the side of the road,
When the race of man goes dry,
The men who are "drys" and the men who are "wets,"
(But none who are so "wet" as I.)

I see from my bar by the side of the road,
A land with a drouth accurst;
And men who press on with the ardour of beer,
And men who are faint with thirst.

I know there are bars in Old Mexico,
And schooners of glorious height,
That the booze splashes on through the long afternoon,
And floods through the gutters of night.

But still I take gin when the travellers take gin
And Scotch with the whiskey man
Nor ever refuse a thirsty soul
A swig from my old beer can.

For why should I praise Prohibition's restraints,
Or love the revenue man?
Let me live in a bar by the side of the road
And drink from the old beer can!

Lidl, according to Veeps. So bang goes that theory. Most other supermarkets have it occasionally and it's no more expensive than premium Brit cider.
