freeview retune wednesday (noon 30th Sept)

Five retunes later and some aerial tweaking i seem to have recovered most if not all of my channels.

(I hope it will sort itself out in due course.)

If you are missing channels;
Switch off "favourites" file if you have one and then look for missing channels.
Some of my favourite channels were not reloaded into the folder.

Also, refresh signal strength on all available frequencies then attempt another retune.
(think it done the trick for me.)

I seem to have gained summit called Quest :hmm:,why could'nt it be something like History or Discovery?

I've not noticed any, but I just noticed Channel 33 was ITV. Switched it on and it's actually ITV 2+1
My freeview box gave me a message to say that ITV2+1 had moved to Channel 33. Sure enough, there it is.
I watched the football earlier, and a bit of Friends (channel hopping). It looks like 5, fiver & five us are still there. I don't seem to have lost or gained anything. Is that what's supposed to happen?
*cautious 'yay'*

I used to know someone back in Bath / Trowbridge we called Mystery Girl. She used to have a friend that we called Mystery Girls friend.

I don't suppose that was you was it?

I did mine, everything seems to be as it was

If it turns out ive lost dave i will be angry

Call me an ignoramis, please, but I never bothered to enquire what one has to do to retune the box. Do you just turn it off and on again? Did I have to do it before midday yesterday, is it too late now? I tried drunkenly pressing the red button at some point last night, but nothing happened, then I fell asleep.

OK. I appear to be one of the unfortunates which doesn't help in my already terribly fucking unfortunate situation.

Old box, knackered zapper - lost 5 and other things, can't retune.

Bugger

Stella - you might not have lost them... with our box they moved to completely random channels, up in the 800's so needed to move them back iyswim? Not sure if anyone else said that already?

seems ok, have a few extra channels that I probably won't watch, and a few seem to have moved, but all in all, not much changes

Oh - no, it's the zapper that's really buggered. The only buttons that reliably work are 5 and Channel Down. So I have been starting at Channel 55 and scrolling down for something, and god help me if I miss it and have to start again. Plus my mate gave me her old FV box in 2005 so it's probably crap too.

:(

Got the 're-tune' message last night, it said 'to re-tune press the blue button' so I did, and it came up with a message saying 'to re-tune, refer to the instruction manual'.
Yes, thanks, very helpful. I don't sodding have one.

I then pressed every button on the remote control in turn, and scrolled through all the menu options, but nada. Nothing about how to re-tune (Although I did get captions in French for a while).

Does anyone know?!

Thanks twisted :)
What was flummoxing me was that the only likely menu option kept asking for a password/pin code thingy.
I got bloody-minded about it and decided to enter 1234 on the off-chance, and whaddaya know ...!
So I'm now successfully re-tuned to the modern age.
