I couldn't go, because my daughter's school starting time (even with breakfast club) meant that I wouldn't have got there on time (I had hoped my partner could take her to school for me). Oh well. I'll find another way to get her a bike; don't really want to give her a falling apart one from Freecycle for her birthday!

how old is your daughter? I have a bike that my daughters outgrown - not much used - v heavy MTB (why kids bikes so chunky?) its good condition my dad bought it when she was about 10
