Free DVDs thread

I was wondering what had happened to this thread.

I watched "A Taste of Honey" last night, free with last weekend's Telegraph.

Bloody brilliant (and good for "spot The Smiths lyrics").

I thought I'd bump this up as The Sunday Times is giving away Donnie Darko director's cut DVD this Sunday. Don't miss it folks!
Luverly. I've got the vanilla copy but i've been told that the directors cut makes yer head hurt even more.

Wonderful, the only downside being having to read the Sunday Telegraph.

Mine went straight in the bin.

I have to have something to read with my Sunday morning fry up and am not willing to buy two Sunday papers, unless they both are accompanied by decent DVD's.

MODS any chance this could be a sticky?

Rats, that's another DVD of mine duplicated..... :(
Anyone know which version it is, then (a/k/a is it the extended Director's Cut or just the Theatrical Version....?)

And has it got the Lee/Woodward/Hardy/Kermode commentary?
I don't know why I'm asking - I got the 2 disc set with the theatrical version and the directors cut in virgin last year for £3

It's the butchered version (or should I say the most butchered versions of all the versions that still exist, that have apparently all been chopped to bits).

The 'Directors cut' ie the cut with everything they could find put back into it has the Walt Whitman bit, Howies 2nd night on the island etc.

It's worth getting your hands on the directors cut DVD for the commentary, there's a lot of talk of missing scenes and alternative versions (and Christopher Lee gets on his soapbox about the the original cut being sabbotaged!)

"How to get ahead in advertising" was in last weeks sunday Times. pity it didn't get onto this thread as it is better than most freebies and doesn't seem to be available in the shops.
ARSE!! I've been looking for a DVD copy of that for ages :(

I caught it late one night, no idea what it was about, and me and my mate's exclamations of "what the fuck..." just got louder and more pronounced the more it went on :D
