France v Portugal, Wednesday 5th July, 8 pm, BBC1

Portugal look poor and Ronaldo should be off by now for cheating. How the fuck did we not beat them, even with 10 men.

*shakes head*

Fucking hell - I'd have almost fancied England against France in the last 10 minutes.

Good game.. sorry for Portugal, but not for Ronaldo.. (hahah. )

Well they were wrong about that earlier one ... mostly ;)

Entirely. People who agree with such penaly descisions have no objective reason to complain about diving since their views give players every incentive to 'simulate'.

That's about the 1st game I've agreed with Mark Lawrenson.

Strange endgame from France though, why didn't they play posession? Why didn't they bulk up their defensive midfield when they made substitutions?

And WTF was Scolari mouthing off about? His side got away with a fair bit of simulation (though at least we had a ref that ignored their blatantly false demands...)

This match has reinforced my view that diving should be punished with a red card. They'd soon stop.

Thank fuck scolari isnt england manager, he's just another mourinho; mouthy under pressure and a filthy fucking cheat.

Well done France, a deserved victory.

que?

henry trod on the blokes leg and fell over. maybe it wasn't a deliberate foul but if the contact hadn't happened then he would have been clear on goal. he actually moved towards the ball but lost balance cos his back leg slipped on the other guy's leg.

what about portugal? what about the blatant diving? what about the constant complaining? what about ronaldo attempting to get a penalty in the first half by just jumping forwards in the penalty area, when nobody was near him? what about postiga falling over when nobody was near him?

I disagree but only in nuance, Henry did milk it yes, and played up his reaction, but Carvalho wasn't innocenmt either ...

Yeah but then Italy would never be able to play, it's in their genes to dive the scum fuckers that they are.

After that, we would have given the French a better game than the Portugese. Least we can score the odd goal from time to time.

4 hours without scoring?

Read tommers' post and check the replay from both angles, honestly.

The replay showed him falling to the ground and brushing his foot against Henry's shin. Half a second later Henry falls to the ground. If thats how you define illegal contact then you're giving every attacking in the box a great incentive to what Portugal did in the second half.

Not sure about that, I think you're wrong to exonerate Carvalho entirely, but I'll let the proper technical experts of the U75 footy forum adjudicate :p :D :)

Not a classic. My dad managed to scrounge a free ticket to this through work.
He was getting all excited last week about seeing England-Brazil. Oh well.
Munich's a lovely city at this time of year I s'pose... :)

Not a great game, but I'm glad France won. I like the French squad, alot of very good players. Just wished they'd give a bloody decent performance!! Shaping up to be a dull WCF.

I've always maintained that Scolari is a right shit, and hopefully this game will put it beyond anyone's doubt.

The Portuguese team have been disgusting throughout the knockout stages.
