If the Phoenix is the pub at the railway station, I like it there. It does, indeed, do interesting wheat and fruit beers. I haven't actually eaten there because, both times I tried, there was nothing on the menu I could eat (vegetarians who don't eat cheese have this problem often, I find), so I have no idea about that.

I am not sure I would want to spend a whole evening in there, but it is certainly a great place to kick off an evening out. IMHO.

Mind you, if it was an urbanite meeting, I might spend an evening in there!

I never actually went in the end... I popped in to use their loo the other day and not really my sort of pub iykwim... but might try out the Phoenix soon, heard they have fruli fruit beer

Yuck.

They have that stuff at some whetherspoons, mainly the lloyds ones though.
