I take it you are joking? Having had 4 cars stolen and loads of cars broken into, the only input you get from the rozzers is a crime number.

No, I am not joking; cars tend to be regarded as the only means of road transport by many and the motoring lobby is pretty powerful.

I've had 2 bikes stolen and the cops didn't bat an eye. At least you got a crime number (which is much more useful than a CAD number).

Fuck's sake, bike theft in London is now basically endemic... Had mine nicked in Liverpool Road not long ago (£60 abus lock picked). Just have to keep them indoors, but that's not always possible.

I had a bike nicked in Beijing. And I was told that you're not a proper Beijinger until you've had at least half a dozen bikes stolen.

I think it's actually open. I got that impression when I popped into the shop this evening, which was what made me think of it.
