Ford Ka

To me they're the eptomoe of a haridressers car.
So much so they made it even easier to spell :D

Thrash it to within and inch of its life mate. I wnat to see if they really do look like an upside down turtle when you flip em over

what? theres millions of kas about and therefore millons of spare parts. if ford wnt bust this wouldn't change.

dave

I agree. It's easy enough to get parts for the Escort, which is effectively in the same position (the Escort factory has long closed and the Focus is a totally different car)

Ditto the old school Fiestas.

So the Ka would be no different

It's easy to get parts for Rovers too, no reason why a common car like the Ka would be any different if Ford did go belly up.

They're really good fun to drive

Nippy little things, and really stable, so you don't have to slow down around corners :p

My mate crashed one going too fast into a corner in Devon... :hmm:

I'd ask him what he thought of it but he's dead (not from the car crash though), I seem to remember he found it embarrassing (being 6'5" black guy built like a tank) and a bit crap.

i don't know if you should but any american cars right now. ford may go under and getting parts would be hard down the road.

If Ford in America goes down, would it bring the European branch? We have different models and I don't think Ford do that badly over here.

They aint too bad..... fairly small pedals, not much room for the family but fine for a couple of days if yours is in the garage...

and yes they are a girls car..... always driven by hot girls :)

Don't they still have an OHV engine? Like from the 1960s? And those big unpainted nappy bumpers fade mighty fast.

of course it will...or they would sell the european operations to someone else. Ford Europe is doing ok and keeping the overall company afloat (for now)

On the subject of courtesy cars a friend of mine got a Chrysler when his car broke down... If you think Kas are bad try one of them, utterly terrible and the interiors are like some cheap plastic nightmare. They do have proper cup holders though.

chrysler produces mostly shit that looks good on the outside...

Yeah alright if you say so. :D

I noticed a fair few of them in Witby the other weekend, popular with the Goths in purple or black as they resemble hearses. :D

There's also some fucking god ugly looking 5 door hatchback in their range that I've seen a few of lately, but doesn't feature on their site.

Looks like a cleaned up version of the ugliest fucking car in the world that I think g force posted a picture of about a year ago on here. :hmm: Can't find a picture, but it was a fucking shocker.

Appalling to look at, can't imagine what they're like to drive.

How do you arrive at that statement - there's no problem getting Rover parts.

If there's enough of a particular model on the road someone will make replacement parts for it.

Yes. It's the final generation of the old Kent engine, which was originally introduced for the Anglebox.

Ford Europe has been doing pretty well and it's very independent from the American arm, so I think it'd probably survive if Ford US were to go under.

this?

No, it was some hideous looking thing that makes that look sleek and beautiful.

I was amazed just how ugly this thing was. Hopefully g force will come along and let us know what it was.

Nothing could be more shit than this:

In fact, I'm pretty sure that must have been the design precursor of the Ka! I remember seeing one of these in the UK, and even at age 10 just knowing that I was looking at something that would fail to make it even to "crock of shit" standard, design-wise.

Very incongruous amongst the Morris Minors, Ford Cortinas and Austin Aggros of 1970s London suburbia.
