For serious Marxists

Who are this lot Attica.

It is too big to categorise, it is a rich mixture of independent and serious thinkers - last year I saw Zizek speak and I thought he was good. With large events there will always be some people and ideas you don't like, but there is plenty of opportunity for good ideas.

This is the event for those who take their Marx and politics really seriously, last year I had a good time and we sold several copies of Mayday. There was also a good range of autonomists, and other people who get to the anarcho bookfair there as well.

Ever since its foundation in 1997, Historical Materialism has sought to
contribute to the intellectual recomposition of the global Left by
serving as an international venue for critical Marxist research. The
journal's initial wager - that Marxism remains a vital, and
heterogeneous political and theoretical tradition - has been borne out
in a conjuncture where Marxist thinkers have amply demonstrated the
critical resources at their disposal (witness recent debates on
imperialism and neoliberalism).
The language of a dying religion.

I do take Marxism seriously and it worries me mostly how contemporary adherents continue to wash their hands of its history.

A couple of questions that need to be flagged up.

1. What advice does Marx give in dealing with dissident voices?

2. Where have Anarchists prospered when they've thrown in their lot with Marxists?

Marxism is OK for lit-crit and maybe some sociology but the track record of those actually living under its dictates has not been a good one.

Interesting how you can take the language of a success story and reverse the meaning based on nothing other than your ideological rubbish.
And your opening post isn't ideological rubbish?

By success story, I assume you're referring to the millions of people sent to the death camps, locked up indefinitely as enemies of the people, repressed, spied on, murdered by the regime - all in the name of Marxism.

WEll that means all ideologies are fucked. The British capitalist state invented concentration camps... No, you are full of ideological crap. Get your own thread parasite.

"How can we develop the plurality of Marxist debates, fields and schools
without making concessions to eclecticism, narcissism or
compartmentalisation? How do we square the concrete multiplicity of
Marxisms with the strong commonalities in intellectual vocabularies,
theoretical sources and political aims? Hasn't the question of the
diversity of Marxism - of many Marxisms - accompanied the tradition’s
entire development, a testament both to its internationalist horizon,
and to the inexhaustible potential of its many critical insights and
conceptual formulations? What strategies can allow us to confront, and..."

What the cunting fuck does this even mean?

Oh sorry. I'm missing the point. Wanky interlectual elitist leftists get together and talk irrelevancies safely tucked away from the real world, where they'd be cruely mocked.
Hahaha! So true.
