4. Usually a chilly or a stew of some sort. I dislike cooking slightly more than I like variety it seems.

That's a good point - am I having to make this meal myself each day, or is it going to be delivered to me in my cell? (I'm assuming I'm locked up in a cell if I'm being forced to eat the same meal day after day)

If I'm making it myself - assuming my cell has cooking facilities - I'd probably go for a sandwich of some kind, with my choice of fillings from day to day. Thinking about it though, what kind of prison allows prisoners to cook their own meals? Do I get decent quality ingredients and/or a budget of some kind. Have I been locked up for anything serious? This whole thread raises more questions than answers tbh.

Shit episode of Black Mirror.

When I can't be bothered to think or spend much time on my food I put a cup of rice, a cup of lentils, onions, chili, ginger, garlic and turmeric in a pot, add some veg out of the freezer when it has cooked for a bit. I could eat this to the end of time but something in my head warns me that eating roughly the same thing day in day out is pushing the bounds of acceptable eccentricity. Then I make a different meal (mash and veg with gravy usually) and eat that for two or three days before going back to rice with lentils. I eat something other than houmous, salad, olives and bread for lunch about once a month and something other than toast for breakfast maybe twice a month.
At one time I ate a cheese salad sandwich every working day for about three years.
