Footy hooligan results just in...

This backs up something i've always said. The darlings of english football have just as much trouble but their reputations have special protection.

no need to ban the average man united fan, just give them a map of manchester and they will be totally fucked, they wont have a clue where they are. :D

There was an article in western mail yesterday. Some of the comments there are quite interesting. As Peter Ridsdale points out, you are always going to get more arrests than others if you have more fans travelling than others. Corky also points out that many police forces treat us differently becasue of our historical reputation.

City have a reputation from the past and despite making big improvements many police forces still treat us like Al Qaeda. There was an 'incident' in sheffiled last season where a bus full of city fans were all nicked just for being in a pub the police did not want them in (although the city fans were not aware of that). Half of them pleaded guilty just to get it over with and were given bans. The other half decided to fight it, spent hunderds of pounds in costs and several wasted days going back and fore court in sheffleld and eventually the judge kicked the whole thing out of court becasue as far as he could see no law had been broken. Those lads missed the FA cup final because some copper thought nicking people just for being in the wrong pub was the easiest option. something similar has happened to Stoke fans recently

For several years city fans set up an independent travel club, THE RAMS, which accomodated lads who did not want to travel on the sterile official 'pop and crisps' buses. Arrests dropped dramatically as you did not have the problem of large numbers of people travelling by car, train, van or whatever getting into scrapes all over the shop with the police having no idea what was going on. The RAMS meant everything was contained, the old bill knew where everyone was but the lads still got to have a drink and a laugh. This worked brilliantly and many police forces loved the RAMS. Arrest figures plummeted drastically for several seasons. One or two forces did not like it though (west midlands and yorkshire police in particular) and did thier damndest to put a stop to it all... and succeeded, thus sending many people back to the bad old days. Needless to say arrest figures have started to rise again. Nice one plod.

I live in Yorkshire, my best friend is a Leeds fan and whenever he comes to watch Cardiff with me away somewhere, generally in Yorkshire or London, he stands in wide eyed in disbelief at how Cardiff fans are treated. And he's used to not being well recieved as a Leeds fan. I don't want to sound liking a whining fan 'cos there are a lot of Cardiff fans who might want to think about perhaps trying a little bit harder in the behaviour department and not being absolute full fat shitbirds but the antagonistic 'We're the police and you're shit' approach to us does absolutely nothing to help anyone.

Tomorrow (yes, Sunday) morning i have to be up at the crack of dawn to get on a bus at 7am that will take me to Ninian Park, i will end up sat on that bus for ages. Even if you live somewhere like neath or bridgend, which is near swansea, you will have to go to cardiff first to meet up with the police.

When the bill then feel like it they will take ALL the travelling cardiff fans in a convoy, escorted by plod from five different forces, to a holding area on the outskirts of Swansea. We will then end up sat there for ages while they escort the buses one at a time to the Liberty Stadium. At the stadium there is a new compound that has been built with a steel fence erected specifically to keep cardiff fans penned in.

After the game they will then close the dual carriageway that leads back up the the motorway and escort us up the wrong side of the road to maximise the distance between us and potential jacks that might be hiding in the bushes.

We will then be escorted all the way back to ninian park.... even though for huge numbers of us ninian park is well out of the way from where we live.

this will mean roughly 8/9 hours being messed about by the law for 90 minutes of football on a sunday morning at a stadium less than an hour from my house.

Now there is no way i can deny that this is a game that has a lot of potential for crowd violence, but are such measures put in place for other derbies with feirce rivalrly? wolves/birmingham, spurs/arsenal, newcastle/sunderland, even celtic/rangers? i think not.

Chelsea top the league, it doesn't surprise me. A few years back I had a run in with a Chelsea supporter on the tube at Earls Court on my way back from an exhibition. The bonehead complete with blue and white scarf/match programme was hurling racist abuse at some Asian passengers, as me and my then 9 year-old daughter were sat opposite him and his two pathetic sniggering mates.

I sat there increasingly annoyed at the cunt whilst everyone else on the tube was too scared to say anything. Then two Romanian/Albanian gypsy children made an entrance through the connecting doors complete with accordion busking for money. The plank then stood up and started screaming No surrender! No surrender! (the cell-less brain obviously thinking they were Catholic Irish).

I just lost it at this point (TBH pretty unusual for me!) and stood up and tore verbally into him, the whole carriage went hushly/deathly quiet, I then turned onto his two mates who had been sniggering at planks racist antics and gave it to them as well. As I sat down i though 'fuck what have I done I'm going to get the shit kicked out of me!"

The things that got me was A) These were not kids but 40 year-olds and B) I had up to this point had a soft spot for Chelsea - buying into the upmarket side image of London where they are based and thinking their supporters must be nice/sophisticated. I hate the stupid cunts now! I also realised just how few people in public back you up.

Bonehead plank after being taken aback then pathetically summoned the courage to offer me out for a fight, but only after I had got off at my stop and the doors were closing. His two 'mates' sat there red and embarrassed in utter silence.

My daughter was dead proud of me but a bit confused asking me 'Dad why did they need to not surrender to two kids?' All I could think of was Peter Osgood for some bizarre reason!

Some idiotically fucking simplistic posts on here, unfortunately.

And some good ones relating to Cardiff City, but remember it's not just them who get nicked for stupid things just cos the coppers feel like it.

Also, remember that if you are arrested at football, for anything, then you cannot get a caution- it is an automatic court appearance, and they automatically try for the banning order. So basically it's up to your solicitor to argue against it.

If it is your 2nd offence, then the ban is automatic. Simple as that- no matter what the arrest was for.

A copper says you a drunk, you go to court, if you don't sort out a solicitor cos you're not aware, or the duty one isn't sympathetic, or whatever, then you are banned for 3 years and are a football hooligan. Rubbish fucking system if you ask me.
