Footless Tights

They are also as bad as those native american earrings from about 3 years ago. What the fuck is that on your ear? A fledgling sparrow that didn't quite make it's first attempt at flight? A rabbits foot?! An earring?! Eurgh!! SKANK

I think they are cool.

Is it because you can't look up girls skirts anymore Chris?

Well, admittedly they take away the nice thing about skirts - legs.. but it's not that, because a good pair of jeans is always cool and hides legs.

They're just so ugly :(

Yeah they're awful but I think one the top worst things I can think of is camel coloured suede trousers/skirt/top with tassles.

WTF!

Worst still, the above combined with denim.

*vom*

Couldn't find an example pic but I found this instead, equally scary:

they were kind of funky retro for about 2 weeks back in autumn 2003, but that was 3 years ago, 80s retro has come and gone and it's back to looking as ugly and silly as it did the first time around. imo.

i think it's fading. but it's still here. but being overtaken. what's the biggest "look" at the moment? is it the rock thing? all them jolly rogers and skulls everywhere? i dunno.

i hate seven jeans, btw, in case anyone cares

They can look cute, but I have to say there are a lot of girls really not doing themselves any favours by wearing them.

quite - they create a horizontal line across the legs - which will make anyone's legs look shorter and wider.

Now some people have long, slim legs - and might want their legs to look shorter/wider, but otherwise it's desperately unflattering.

It's a moot point for me - my miniskirt days are long gone - tights or no, but in most cases it's pretty unflattering, imo.

more subjectively, it seems a bit "topshop uniform-y"... which is fine on kids, but i don't think i could respect someone's style if it was so samey. jmo

edit - obviously "flattering" is conforming to a patriarchal, media manipulated idea of beauty... lalala

They're fucking horrible.. so unflattering. I'm surprised they've such a following on here.. usually my hatred of them is met with agreement and cheers of "good show" and "bravo".

What's the point? They're shapeless, make everyone's legs look shit, and take away the point of a skirt..

They're the kind of things I imagine Christians wearing.

FACT.
I agree wholeheartedly. A very very unsexy look.

yes PieEye, they are.

i've gone from being quite ambivalent towards footless tights, even thinking "it's a bit over now" to loving them and thinking it's the best look ever.

funny what a thread on urban can do to one's opinion

and one for luck

I think they look good. And I think PieEye would look very cool in them.

But it does seem like everyone's wearing them now - so I can pretend that I'm just too cool to follow the crowd, when in fact I know I'd look bloody stupid wearing them.

phew!

Wouldn't that basically be a pair of legwarmers?!
pretty much. But longer and without the slouch. Might be a bit silly teamed with a mini skirt.
Not that I'd be wearing them anyway. :)

I was pondering getting some of these tights but:

a.) am I too old? I'm 27 and a half
b.) is it too late?

jeez, I'm 29, do I have to start worrying that I'm 'too old' for certain clothes?

:(

:o

I wouldn't wear footless tights though, bit too 'trendy-trendy-try-hard' for me. :p
