Football teams you *personally* love/hate and your reasons...

Forgot to mention, I also hate Team Bath.

They're not students, the big fakers, with their poncey mullets.

More was spent on the Team Bath football team last season than on the whole of arts throughout the University. They even knocked the darkroom down to make a bigger sports centre as well, the bastards.

Like: Espanyol, Zaragoza, Sheffield Wednesday - lived there and went to the games Sevilla - they please me as a football club.

Dislike: Far$a, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Spurs.

Like:

Portsmouth. Dunno why, just like them more than any other Prem team.

Orient. Sure, they hate us, but it's hard not to like a team with such a cool shirt.

Nottingham Forest. Gotta have respect for a team which achieved what they did under Clough

Dislike (as Ed says, I'm leaving out Chelsea, Spuds and Millwall here)

Everton. Cos they always seem to beat us and have handed us a few ridiculous hammerings over the years.

Middlesbrough. Have had way more money invested in them than their pitiful fanbase deserves

Stoke. Have no real reason for this. Just a gut feeling.

Southampton. Sort of irrational too. Just always disliked them for some reason.

Hate: West Ham - epitomise everything that is wrong in the modern game (owners are corrupt, players have a reputation for being cheats, fans are this new breed of middle class trendy twats who force real football fans away from their team)

Fucking bullshit.

And besides, the problem with the Argies signing took place under the previous ownership, who were, indeed, corrupt as fuck. But no way are our fanbase the most middle class in the prem. That is absolute cock.

I know loads of West Ham fans and I've been to a fair few games over the years. This point about the "new breed" of fans is absolute rubbish.

Agreed. I can understand Cyber's frustration over the Tevez saga. But to say our fans are all nu-football-fan middle class types is utter bollocks.

Like
Everton - Always supported them.
Manure - Just cos Fergie is such a good manager
Arse - as above
South Melbourne - I used to host their fansite years ago.

Hate
Chelsea - Always have since I were a nipper.
Aston Villa - as above.
Rangers - No idea why

I like Liverpool as well, but it feels wrong for some reason :hmm:

Well, the comment was intended to be tongue in cheek and piss the resident West Ham fans off, but it seems to have hit such a nerve with you I'm now convinced there must be some truth in it!

I think the 'joke' has run its course.

Like Partick Thistle, simply for this chant:

"Hello,Hello,How do you do?
We hate the boys in royal blue,
we hate the boys in emerald green,
so fuck the pope and fuck the queen."

Dislike most of the Premiership, to be honest - overpaid prima donnas, who spend half their time rolling around on the floor.

Oh, and Watford, obviously (though being a Luton fan I guess that comes with the terriytory).

:D Good chant.

Dislikes - Have to say though for me its Lootown for the same reasons in reverse :D

Can't bear the likes of Spurs and Newcastle - current underachievers who endlessly drone on about their 'footballing traditions' zzzzzzzz

Conversely like both Norwich and Ipswich.

How does that one work then? You say something that's bollocks, but if anyone tells you it's bollocks it must be true?

If people only followed football teams for their 'non-pishedness' (look it up, it's in the dictionary) there would be about seven football teams to support. :hmm:

There's some good quality players and football in the SPL. Only problem is the continuing imbalance between Celtic, Rangers and the rest.

And I say that as a Celtic fan.

Why spoil the entire history of scottish football?

Well fucking said mate, all this romanticised bollocks about the 'student team' getting to the upper echelons of non league is shite. They're all narrow rejects and near misses from pro football trying to relaunch their careers at a set up which has massively greater resources than the teams they beat every week.

There's only one team in Bath and happily they're on the way back after a tough few years :)

Anyway, disregarding our traditional rivals because you don't need reasons to hate them:

Yeovil - Shitheads without the bus fare. Jester hatted twats.
Notts County - cheating cunts who should have been embarrassed at the trick they pulled against us a few years ago but actually enjoyed it. They've disliked us for years but we only started reciprocating when they acted like cunts against us in 2001. Hope they lose their league place soon.
Stockport County - whinging tossbags
Burnley - horrible town, horrible fans
Reading - most of their supporters couldn't even name their old ground, let alone know where it was. I cheered their demise last season and look forward to their return to their real home in the lower leagues.
Doncaster Rovers - they're really up themselves these days, the attitude of their fans when we went there last season was arrogant beyond belief.

Plenty of others I have a mild dislike for, most of them have done something to offend me down the years ;)

That was pretty much my reasoning for liking them too. That and them seeming like a fairly natural sister team for Tranmere.

Other than them, I like Chesterfield, cos it's a magnificently shitty ground still. Sheffield United for family reasons. Macclesfiled, proper battling little club with a proper history that's come up without vast amounts of money

Dislike - Portsmouth, no history, no fans, no style, fuck 'em. Scunthorpe, cold, wet shithole. Swindon, further than you think and always a dull as fuck game.

Like
Chelsea.....Especially under Abrahamovic who has been great for the game....taking the premiership to new levels of financial madness.
MK Dons.....everybodys 2nd favourite team.....great fans great stadium.....great idea to give a new town a football ground and team...
Partick Thistle......Glasgows finest good ground and funny supporters...anti the twin forces of darkness....
Cardiff City......Love the passion and humour of the supporters.
Millwall........Ditto

Enfield Town.....The first and finest fans club....

I could go on others i like ......no no i better not. oh go on....Kingstonian,Billericay,Ramsgate,Bromley and anybody else who hates AFCNORBITON.

Dislikes
AFC Wimbledon represent all that is bad in the yuppiefication of football,,,,hypocritical whingeing fucking snobs....ground stealing scummmmmm....
Rangers.....sectarian twats

After JTG wanting the Premiership big boys Portsmouth to beat Cardiff in the FA Cup final, Bristol Rovers have gone from a team I quite liked to one hovering dangerously close to the 'dislike' pile.

And, yes, it can be that fickle.
