Definitely prefer playing to watching, don't really watch that much footy on the TV now I think about it..
Played Sunday football for 10 years, Saturday football for 6, Sat and Sun for 2 years, all in proper teams and leagues, now semi"retired" from competitive football..not likely to go start again - Urban75 appearances excepted of course
For people put off playing by the Sunday morning fights I'd recommend Saturday football, tends to be a bit more expensive as teams are required to have their own ground but it is generally more organised, and in the league I played in you'd always get a post-match hot meal
At first I missed the edge that Sunday football has but after a while I managed to end up playing in quite a high league at some nice grounds which made up for it..the only problem was having to travel from London to places like Guildford and Woking, long way to go if you get beat

Not just that though. I found that playing on crap, bumpy pitches up/down hill in all weathers killed my legs on a Monday and sometimes into Tuesday.
