Football....bloody hell....

was my favourite game ever. It's in the top ten days of my entire life. Last few minutes of the game quite possibly the best few minutes ever.

My favourite ever game was Barnet vs Norwich City in the second leg of the first(?) round of the league cup. About 1999-ish. Norwich were 2nd tier, Barnet (my second team) were being their usual crap 4th tier selves.

We were, if memory serves, 1-0 down from the first leg. Then at home, we conceded first -- 2-0 town to a team two divisions above us. We proceded to score 3 goals and it was fucking awesome.

I have no memory of the actual football on play that day. It was probably awful. But it was the best game I've ever been to.

Barnet were my second team for a while, when my dad lived in Potters Bar. Crazy slope at that ground.
Having a ground that nobody else can play on always helps you scrape those few extra points that can make the difference between 4th tier and conference football.

I miss Underhill.

Who let the bees outs? Bzz bzz bzz!

They're my local club! I've even been twice!

And my old school mate was probably their most famous player. Guilano Grazioli who scored Stevenage's famous winner against Newcastle.

Am I cool or what?

This was the real king of sloping grounds

although you don't really get the feel of it from any photo.

I have to admit that Underhill is my least favourite footie ground of all. Not helped by the last match I was at there, one of the stewards laid into some of our fans, who were then ejected from the ground for fighting.

Now that I'm a north Londoner, at least for the foreseeable future, I have been considering a visit to Barnet to see whether I should adopt them as my second team.

He also scored the winner for Stevenage against us in an FA Cup third round tie at our place, in probably the worst conditions I've seen a game played in.

We then bought him the following season and he did ok for us, nothing special though.

One season, I went to nineteen of Barnet's home games. My record isn't even CLOSE to that for my actual team that I'm supposed to support.

Grazioli, Grazioli, Ole Ole Ole!

He was OK for us. Had to retire cos of some eye condition I think
