foodstuffs you don't trust

but the snot is what makes it magic lizzie - thickens up gumbo and curries beautifully - one of my fave veggies - if it wasn't for the damn air miles

re "scoopaway" - I've just realised - I bet it's one of those shops where you help yourself out of big dustbins full of stuff - now there's a whole shop I don't trust - I don't want to buy food after all those poor people have had their hands all over it !!!

;)

no, theres one in bath too! well, a scoopers...you scoop lots of powdery things up that sound lush (spicey veg soup etc) and weigh them and pay for them and then have lots of random bags of powder that use incorrectly as you don't know which is which. cake made with potato flour isn't very yum :(

it's all about building up your immunities :D

I like polenta as long as it's covered in cinnamon sugar, cocoa powder or lemon sugar. Polenta as a sugar carrying vehicle is fine.

I'm deeply suspicious of soused herring though, anything that smells that bad can't be good for you. I find sweetcorn mildy disturbing too, rubbery, dayglo yellow veg that infiltrates it's way into everything just isn't right.

Olives - trying to be grapes but taste like shit.

Beetroot - trying to be strawberry jam but tastes like shit.

The imposters of the food world!

nah, it's great! love it - love the way it looks when its cooked as well, like teeny-tiny spaghetti hoops!

I bought some and it's vile, vile, vile. Can I send you my pack? I can't bear to throw it away - it seems so wasteful.

Quinoa - giant crunchy sperm

Okra - devil's horns

Pickled eggs - giant's eyeballs

Sweetcorn - little yellow teeth

IMO like :)

Hooray, we should be a gang :)

Sweetcorn made me chuckle

Im not great with chutneys/pickles...I like the taste but the colour and consistency has to be just right. I had some brown sweet stuff earlier which was nice but i nearly passed it over cos of the colour. And i bloody hate potato salad...yuk yuk...

Yes! Come round for dinner! Guaranteed no quinoa, sweetcorn, okra or pickled eggs.

I used to go to the pub with someone who'd buy a packet of salt 'n' vinegar crisps and a pickled egg and drop the egg into the packet.

*insert puking smiley here*

oh and lobsters are duplicitous bastards as well - I wouldn't trust one as far as I could throw it - but then all the more reason to eat them IMO

Last year a diver I know brought back three lovley fat lobsters from the other side of Anglesey. Two for him and one for me. :)

When we got back from the pub, his vegan flatmate had set them free into the Menai Strait. :(

ooh.. I just finished mine this evening.. cooked it with veg stock and porcini mushrooms.. lovely. You can give your unused to me if you like.. :D

(all meat and fish)

and sweetcorn.. I don't like the way it explodes in your mouth
kidney beans (I am getting over this know) - My mother used to warn me that they would poison me if they weren't cooked properly. This seems to have overridden my taste buds.... :(

Big grins on this thread. Cheers all! Expesh Wolfies rhubarb fear!

I am scared of Millet. Made me very ill when I went to see Absolute Beginners at the cinema. :( (think I ate a raw burger tho :o )

Parents had a tin of Pistachio nuts from Dubai student. After a few days of munching they noticed the bottom of the tin was moving. It was maggots!

And..... I have never had a kebab! That meat on sticks thing doesnt do anything for me, large or small! :)

I'm scared of millet too. But mainly because I thought it was budgie food :o

i'm scared of millets. but i think that's something to do with being allergic to goretex.

I will give you mine. I've got a whole box (minus one serving) sitting in my cupboard, making me feel guilty.
