This is our rough draft. Since Ceebee didn't actually know the song when she turned up this afternoon. So I had to teach her it.

I also screwed up the recording, the guitar was meant to be just for her to listen to while I recorded her voice clean so I could dub the guitar later on, unfortunately i screwed it up and recorded both. So the guitar isn't 'great' cause I didn't think it was recording :p

So the guitar is a single take, her singing was one take after about 30 mins of practice with the tune, she did some nice harmonies over after.

We going to work on it some more and I am hoping I can get the recording done properly next time, will have the guitar and voice seperate so I can do some 'clean up' on the voice and guitar seperate.

This has no effects, no compressors, no de-essers, just plain recorded in my living room.

I like that. Nice voice. Good work!

Reminds me what a chuffin' marvellous song it is, too.

Thanks man, she has an amazing voice.

As I said tho, rough draft, I was just soo chuffed with how it came out, I had to show someone :D

Wish I had known before hand tho, might have given my playing a bit more empathsise rather then just keeping rhythm and concentrating on her singing.

Fucking lovely!!!!

Thanks I expect to hear her voice is nice a lot, odd thing is I had a few beers and was trying to lay down the guitar track seperate for our next recording session.

Not got close to getting it right yet :p

Pleasently surprised, it is one of the better RH covers I have heard.

(the song is about a dream yorke had btw)

Thanks. I told Ceebee of all your kind comments she was well chuffed.

Coming over again tomorrow to do vocals properly since I finally got the Guitar track down seperate...

It is odd, banged out that guitar without even thinking about it, and its pretty error free, the moment I sat down and tried to record it clean, messed it up time and again, over and over and over, was driving me nuts.

In the end I had to stick together all the bits until I had the entire tune laid out, all the sections chorus, verse, mid 8 sort of thing, and then use that as a backdrop and record the entire piece over it in one go.

Seemed to work, but what a pain.

True Love Waits should be quite an easy song for you to bang out, short little acoustic number. I have always thought it would be more suited to a girl singing it than Yorke's Neil Young voice:

I'll drown my beliefs
To have you be in peace
I'll dress like your niece
To wash your swollen feet

Just don't leave
Don't leave

I'm not living
I'm just killing time
Your tiny hands
Your crazy kitten smile

Just don't leave
Don't leave

And true love waits
In haunted attics
And true love lives
On lollipops and crisps

Just don't leave
Don't leave

Just don't leave
Don't leave

She was here earlier and we were looking around for something else to do, started doing Tasmin Archer's Sleeping Satellite, but I don't think either of us liked that.

I will learn that tune for the next time she comes around and I agree, I think that would suit her voice as she can really hold a note for about a week and there is plenty of room in the song to do that.

Don't have a twelve string tho, so don't think I will be able to match that guitar sound.

Sounds promising....what did you record it on?

Who is ceebee??

Porta07 Tascam ministudio, just a single take, my guitar was plugged straight in no effects or anything and she was singing plain through a mic.

Ceebee is a friend of mine, I asked her what I should refer to her as, and she said, Ceebee. So Ceebee she is.
