Follow the Money. BBC4. New Danish financial corruption shenanigans.

This has gone very quiet. We are still watching it and still enjoying it, but, I feel like anyone who does anything is likely to end up dead probably influenced by Sander or the beardy one, who despite appearing to be at the top of the pile is seeing to people himself rather than gettig others to do the deed for him ( despite his age).

Thought it was a very good ending. Although offing the most charismatic and best drawn character seems to rule out a sequel.

When Claudia was experiencing doubts about Sander and Energreen and cutting a deal with the police why didn't she tell them that Bertram had recognised the Swedish killer? That was the piece of evidence that would have brought everything crashing down.
That omission left me feeling that I'd just wasted ten hours of my life.

Would the testimony of a 5 year old really have brought it all crashing down?

I was more disturbed by the script having the Fraud Squad airily dismissing the testimony of Sander's right hand person once the bankruptcy charges were laid. The idea that they would not want to cut a deal with someone who had massive insider knowledge of how it all worked was hard to swallow.

At least Batista survived though!

It would have been a pretty major lead.

At least Batista survived though!

He looked like a very fine hound indeed. :) I'm glad that Nicky and Bimse came through it all safe if not unscathed. The fate of the father in law was left unresolved though, at one point I'd hoped that he'd enlist the aid of the bikers against the Swede.

I heard a review of this before it started on R4, along the lines of it had good performances but was totally implausible (small green energy firm having so much influence within Denmark and, even more so, beyond). To be honest, that was true, but still enjoyed it.

For helvede, Mads! You're fucking up on several levels! Sort it out, for fanden!

Also, does the Swede really think Nicky is up to the job? Hold op!

The lort has hit the fan now.

Alf will pull through, he has to. It's put the investigations into a new level. What on earth is Nicky thinking? He's got dragged in well over his head.

The 3rd series starts tonight.
I haven't watched any of this before so does anyone think I can just start at series 3 without having seen 1&2?
I’d say you’ll be wondering what all the references are, but you’d be wondering that anyway. No harm in going for it. And thanks for the reminder!

Very different feel this time. No Mads or Claudia, by the looks of things. I can’t remember what had happened to them by the end of S2, but I’m fine with the focus on Alf. Alf and Nicky look like having parallel demons to deal with, so that has promise.

Yes. Very. I am surprised by the seeming absence of Claudia (almost as surprised at Nicky's hair and Stone Island look).

But series three already feels much darker than the first two series. If series one and two were about the crisis of and the ultimate collapse of the long social democratic project of Denmark then this seems to be exploring the neo-liberal aftermath and attendant anomie.

only watched 15 mins of 1st episode - is the bleach blonde drug dealer the mechanic who had a young baby and nutty mate in the first series? (seems a long time ago).

Yup, that's Nicky with the blonde mop. His mate was called Bimse and he does have a kid....

I really enjoyed this last night. Off to find S1 and S2 now to catch up.
Finished S2 last night.
First off I have to admit that I only realised that Nicky in S3 was the mechanic in 1&2.when I was halfway through S2. That was because I recognised the actor's name on the credits of S3 :facepalm:

I liked S1 more than 2. I also thought the last episode in 2 was a bit of a rubbish ending.

Anyway, I'm up to date now  :D
