I disagree. The two issues aren't the same at all.

There is no evidence to support vaccine damage as a cause of autism, which is what all the MMR furore was about.

Of course, as with any vaccines, or any medication, there is a risk of adverse side effects. The risk of measles, mumps or rubella is real, and can't really be prevented any other way than reaching the 'herd immunity' tipping point, or keeping your child locked away from other children and other people in case of infection.

There are other ways of dealing with above average numbers of dental cavities in children, i.e. spending money on NHS dentistry, perhaps banning sugary drinks from schools. I mean, it's a nonsense, really, isn't it, spending loads of money on putting chemicals in the water, which can be harmful to some people, when it would be far simpler and cheaper to take other measures, well, not necessarily cheaper in terms of providing dental services... but other measures could be implemented before mass medication against people's consent.

Flouride is a cumilitaive toxin known for causing fluorosis, which is er...bad for teeth.

You can check this out for yourself. Omnipresence in the water system is a very different scale from brushing 2 times a day or whatever.

I do not want to ingest toxic industrial waste that was used to dumb people down by totalitarian states (and I dont suppose the question of dental hygine kept the nazi and soviet authoritarians awake at night). If others want to, they should have the choice. I am not inflicting my desires on them. Compulsory medication is an imposition and a violation of fundemental rights.

That's not really "evidence" - it's a personal account of her opinions by Kathy Sinnott, an independent Irish MEP, and basically repeats the points you make.

Flouride was first used on populations under the nazi and soviet regeimes. PR, spin and lies are used to force this industrial waste on people, known for it's effects on dumbing people down.

I have mixed feelings about fluoridation of water. I have lived my entire life in a fluoridated area, I have good teeth and would not consider myself 'dumbed down'. If its supposed to do that then it fails!

But in principal I would rather we had a decent dental-care system, and I do not rule out there being some health side effects.

But in the grand scheme of control over the masses, I dont think it registers as an issue. Television may be implicated in dumbing people down, Im sure fluoride isnt.

No, we get absolutely plenty of minerals we need from proper food, in far greater quantities than you can hope to get from water.

But, that does depend on eating the right foods... and that's getting harder and harder.

Distilled water is what tends to be avaliable on ships (desalinated sea water). It also tends to pick up a taste from pipe work and metallic containers, it most definitely tastes differnt from tap water or even bottled water
