Flesh Tunnels

Buy pack of these and switch them with the hooks the earrings came with.

That completely changes the look of the earring though, often times! Those are fine for vertical dangly ones or simple hanging stones, etc. I've got one pair like that...Don't love 'em. I'm a big fan of hoops.

*** Strumpet - you thread the earring and the plug together through the hole? Don't you find the regular earring sort of 'cuts' into or pushes into your lobe?

No. I thread the earring gently through usually underneath the plug and it's fine. I have a pair of large black hoops, quite heavy. Can't wear them cos it won't stay in.

No, that's what I meant - they are both IN the hole simultaneously. Not do you thread them simultaneously.

:)

I don't think that would work for me...things tend to get stretchy with my plugs anyway... I will experiment with this method though.

Also, on occasion I've accidentally threaded a dangly earring underneath a tunnel instead of through it and that feels quite unpleasant...so I imagine it may not feel great to have a thin (tiny gauge) earring threaded underneath/alongside plugs.

I got it lovely, don't worry!
:)

it just wasn't very funny

Definitely true. Plastic is worst, stainless steel is pretty bad. Wood is nowhere near as bad. Silicone seems to be okay for it, maybe it's slightly porous?

Either way, you have to clean tunnels A LOT more regularly than standard piercings, ear cheese is rank.

Ear cheese :(

I also found my ears would be a bit whiffy from time to time. Was this just me? :hmm: :o

No, that's partly why I let them shrink again. Fed up having limited earring wear and more cleaning than normal piercings.

I'm now getting the new embarassed smiley  He's SHITE!!

I've got 2g, but I'm going up to 0g this December for my birthday. I love them. I love body modifications in general and I feel like even if you grow old and don't want them anymore, they simply mark a chapter in your life through physical expression, the same way people go back and read journals they've written, except this is always with you.

I like that, it's a really good way to think about it

I've got 10 and 4mm stretches in each ear...gonna stretch 'em up to 1/2 inch and 6/7mm i reckon. I loves 'em...there's so many pretties to put in them! I used to have 5 normal piercings in each ear, and i've done the 1st and 3rd holes so far...might do the 5th if it doesn't distort my ear too much.

Well said Lia, and welcome!

I have 00g (9-10mm, but I can easily get a 11mm plug in there) tunnels. I usually wear wood plugs, I bought this gorgeous pair (the blue/green ones) a few months ago though:

So tempted to go bigger, but I'll probably want them to shrink back one day. I always wear dangly earrings, but in my second lobe piercings. Used to wear hoops through steel tunnels but the clasp always falls down and ends up showing. Should maybe invest in some of those ones without an obvious clasp thing.

keep gettin harassed by my tat guy to do mine  this thread aint helping. oh and some fucker said I should also get dermals on my collarbones...

Ooh, they're pretty! I got some very similar to these custom made in 13mm earlier this year

but i'm still at 10mm coz i've got a few lovely pairs in this size, and don't want to stop wearing them just yet! :D

it would look cool, but yeah catching and infections and visible scars.... no thanks...

I guess it's a pretty visible place to have them in case they scar. I would quite like one, but I really don't know where to get one. I thought maybe on my neck under my hairline would be good, but again, getting hair caught in it would be horrible. I had my conch pierced in January and it's still not quite healed so I reckon a dermal would be asking for trouble :(

Get skin divers instead, less scarring if they reject and they're not as invasive. You soon stop catching them as well, just cover them up at night at first and you'll be right ;)

@Idioteque...the slower you stretch (1mm at a time!) the less like a cats arsehole they look! :D

Nice! I've asked on Etsy if someone will make me a wooden pair with cut-out hearts, as I've seen a few really nice pairs but only for larger gauges. Something like this:

^ That was a from a custom site, I really want them but I bet they're expensive.

No decent replies from Etsy yet :(

Cartilidge can take aaaages to heal, 12-18 months is quite common.
