i'm also in the mystified/insipid camp, i keep trying to listen to them as we're going to the end of the road and they're headlining, plus i'm curious about all the fuss, but i can't last 5 minutes

I've only heard a couple of things, but it grates on me. Ugggh.

all the right notes and sounds, but they don't really have the tunes or lyrics to back them up.

There's one song of theirs I quite like, which I think was a single, but I can't really like it anymore cos I realized the other day I only liked it cos it nicked the hook from Neil Young's 'America'.

Saw them yesterday in Hyde Park before Neil Young. I was distinctly underwhelmed.

Saw them in Leeds on Sunday night - they were really good. They seem to be a bit like "Marmite" - but certainly a cut above a lot of the Alt folk stuff doing the rounds (most of which is about as exciting as someone turning up to a party with a guitar...)
