God - I'm going to feel like Satan here but.....
All the fun and games and stuff were great and Wayne is lovely and I appreciate his world view, balloons are nice and so is confetti etc etc etc.
But the songs are a bit......well.......rubbish aren't they? I just don't like the music it would seem. It's dull in parts tbh.

The ballads don't take off live as much as they do on record, if that's what you mean. i.e., if it weren't for the extraa-musical antics, I would have run the risk of being a little bored when they were playing In the Morning and Vein of Stars, lovely songs that they are.
Race for the Prize is NOT a rubbish song in ANY setting!

the first song was good - I liked that. Do you Realise, Disintergrate I like but I find the rest a bit meandering and dull. Put it this way - I'm not going to dig any FLips out and have a listen after that gig.

I'd love to have seen them, just for the mental theatrics of it... plus some of those songs are fantastic. If I'm honest though, I'd have been wishing I was seeing em 7 or 8 years ago.

you said you don't like the Flaming Lips. You also couldn't name anybody better at the moment. Therefore the clear implication is that you believe all current music is rubbish.
So i clearly didn't accuse you of not paying attention or not opening your ears just because "you ain't diggin", one band did i?

I think the lips are amazing, if you just listened to one or two songs from the current album then you MAY get the impression that there's some prog rock thing going on ... then again, you could remove your head from your arse *looks at Dirtysanta* and listen to a bit of their tracks and you probably would change your mind.
