Fixed gear bikes.

:D

i am now in a quandary... i've ridden the 54cm t1 we have and it feels like a child's bike, after measuring it the seat tube is 52cm and the top tube 54cm, my colnago is 58/58... :hmm:

the question is do i want my favourite top tube and a shorter seat tube or favourite seat tube and longer top tube.

i'm erring towards fave top tube but i'm just not quite sure enough to take the plunge yet...

I would go for stre-e-etch. Having owned bikes for all of three weeks.

:)

p.s. can I have one tooooo? :)

p.p.s. how do people 52cm little power such big gears?

i may just go for the stretch and fit a super short stem for frightening steering :D

answer to ps. you got £800?

answer to pps. check out some keirin racers

I reckon I could thrash all but the spriteliest of fixie riders (and they'd need a low ratio!) off the lights on my URT Klein Mantra Comp. :D:hmm::cool:

I was trying to figure out why a dispatch rider wouldn't be able to afford to maintain a geared bike ...

I used to need a new chain and block every month - 6 weeks and a new chainring for every 3 of them running a seven gear bike as a courier. I bought low-mid range components and it would set me back 30-40 quid for the new chain and block. This was ten years ago. The average courier in London takes home 2-300 pounds a week though 90% of them will claim to be taking 400+ (I've controlled them, I know what they earn). I make that anywhere between 2 and 5 percent of earnings on chain and block alone.

i always stayed the damp end of the radio: anderson young, pink express, back to AY when it changed to MY then got bought by addy lee, reuter brooks saved my bacon and i quit for a couple years. just doing a bit of part time with metro now. heard good things about executive cars from the motorbike riders, i'll always be a pushy though :D

Somehow, I believe this means something :)

'Damp end of the radio' means he was on the road as courier rather than in the office. Then follows a list of companies all of which I am unfortunatey familiar with. :)

ETA: oh, and 'pushy' means a cycle courier, from 'pushbike'
