I've been there a few times and I have to say it is the best I've had so far in london, though the chips could be better. And I wish they wouldn't use those plastic/polystyrene trays.
Relahni, are you living in se16 still? Whereabouts is the F+C shop? I could do with a local chippie.

My local in West Norward adds beef dripping into the oil they fry the chips in, and I've never had better chips anywhere ever.

A good chippy has to keep you waiting, cooking each bit of fish to order. I know of a fucking top spot in Hounslow, but that's no fucking good to me.

Indeed, I believe that this is the real reason that chish and fips are supposed to be so much better 'oop north' as that is what they do.

Best fish and chips I've had in London would have to be at The Sea Shell in Lisson grove, have had takeaways and sit down meals in the restaurant and have never been disappointed.
Not cheap though and the queue for takeaways used to be a pain in the arse but worth the wait.

You forget that in expensive parts of London, EVERYTHING costs more, not just the houses.
I got fantastic fish and chips for about £2-£3 in Leeds city centre not all that long ago

Big bump I know. I'm asking for a committed vegetarian as I am considering one of these places soon. I know masters does battered halloumi but is the palace still good, is the halloumi strictly veggie
