You can, the official limit is "2 pints of beer or cider or a 75cl bottle of wine", but you can get away with bringing in at least a 4 pack IME. Or it's Fosters at 3.50 for a paper cup pint, or the bars at the Nursery End do a pretty decent Marstons Pedigree.
