back in the days of mono

first album: The Tempting Temptations incl. My girl
the album cost 30 shilling and sixpence and was in mono.
As my wage was 3 pounds net a week, a massive expenditure.

First single: an EP with Burl Ives-Wish upon a star (circa 1962)
cost me 3 shillings and sixpence.

My father had some 78 singles with Willie Dixon and Evils Presley which he played on his hand cranked phonograph.
How's that for ancient history?
