I'm doing a lot of train travel at the moment, mainly GNER, Newcastle to London or Cross County (ex Virgin), Newcastle to Leeds / B'ham etc. The lights in all the trains are awful and I had to wear sunglasses at night the other day because the glare was so bad it was triggering what felt like the start of a migraine. Am seriously thinking of getting an eyemask so I can try to get some sleep, even if it'll make me look like a twat - coming back from London last night I ended up putting my wrap over my head to get away from the lights

Yep... the originals were as near perfect a piece of train design as we've ever had. Comfy, table space for all, and none of that "sitting on top of the engine" noisy shite.

Pendolinos are a cramped mare in comparison.
