First 10 films you ever saw at the cinema.

Mine (I think) were:

Michael Jackson's Moonwalker
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
Jungle Book
Mrs Doubtfire
The Fugative
Heat
Batman Returns
Maverick
True Lies
The Fifth Element

Plus a few kiddie ones with my little sis which don't count (Beethoven, Dennis, Mr Nanny etc)

I remember queuing at the Catford ABC cinema to see Ben Hur.
The place was sold out so me and my brother watched the whole film standing at the side of the aisle. 4 hours plus!!
Seem such a long time ago the the film was almost a documentary.:D

I can't really remember what films I went to see when I was a kid - probably Bambi, 101 Dalmations, that sort of thing.

The first films I definitely remember seeing were Grease, Elvis - The Movie, Porky's and An American Werewolf in London.

i saw loads as a young un i think

i think i remeber seeing the ewoks movies too .... and my aldult brain sorta tried tro erase them from existence

Before the age of 10 I remember seeing at the cinema:

The Jungle Book
The Fisher King
Look Who's Talking Too
Dave
The Rescuers Down Under
Some foreign language cartoon (I have this idea that it was Swedish) about whales on a school trip. I was on a school trip, not the whales.

I think I've been to the cinema less than a dozen times in my entire life.

So you're basically asking me to name ever film I've seen at the cinema.

That's a big call.

Can't remember all of them, but it's something like this...

Watership Down
Bambi
Star Wars
Desperately Seeking Susan
Breakdance
Give my regards to Broad Street + The Frog Chorus (is that 2?)
Moonraker
Footloose
Absolute Beginners
1984

At least seven of my early trips to the cinema were to see The Muppet Movie -- I just kept insisting on going again!

Then I got to sit in the studio and see a day's worth of filming. Most of it was the sketches for Statler and Waldorf (the two old men in the balcony). Almost the whole last series worth of their appearances were shot that day. :D

I remember seeing these at the cinema as a child, no idea if they are the first 10:

Fantasia
Dougal and the Blue Cat (scary!)
Mary Poppins
Gone with the Wind
The 3 Muskateers
The 4 Muskateers
Kelly's Heroes
Westworld
Jason and the Argonauts
The Land that Time forgot

Whatever happened to Dougal and the Blue Cat? It was a full length version of the magic roundabout - but you never hear about it now.

Fuck knows.

But I remember being absolutely captivated by the size of the screen, and the sort of distressed grandeur of the theatre itself.

The Brixton Astoria, later which became the Brixton Academy, was a fantastic ornately decorated cinema. Roman statues, starry ceiling, balcony over the screen. I wonder if if was preserved.

I wondered that a few years ago. It made it to video but it was pretty rare.
I seem to recall it having a rather odd but neat way of tidying the story up at the end. Somethign like, they just make friends with the blue cat and he was just lonley or something.

I got away with it until the cashier said, "that'll be £3 (or whatever it was)" and I said, "no, i get half price cos I'm under 14".

twat

:D

My first cinema film was probably Herbie rides again.

First really memorable film for me was Close Encounters. I remember getting a casio keyboard and trying to attract aliens by playing the tune and wanted to build a mountain of sirt in the back garden.

First film I went to with my mates was Return of the Jedi, I tried in vain to get off with Simone Plant and missed much of the film.

I have a hazy memory for these kind of lists, for example I'm sure I saw Lord of the Rings but looking it up it didn't seem have a UK release, maybe it was a pirate vid or summat.

The Rescuers
Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo
Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger
Star Wars
Superman
Watership Down
Moonraker
The Black Hole
Herbie Goes Bananas
Empire Strikes Back
Superman II
Condorman

Oh that's 12.

Oh I saw Superman 2 as well.

I also rememeber battlestar Galactica 2. I was pissed off because muffet (man in the robot bear thing) wasn't in it.

Not sure, but a few stand out in my mind.

I saw one called The Good Earth, but it was made in 1937. Something's off about that.
