fireworks: where are you ooh-ing?

To be fair they were doing exactly the same at Brockwell, firing the barrage of fireworks from behind a copse of trees. It was fine with the bigger rockets, but a lot of the lower level fireworks just caused a weird woodside gow.

We even tried to walk around to stop the views being obscured, but the organisers had seemed to pick an area almost totally encircled by trees.

No idea why really. Perhaps it gives some protection in case of a rocket going off at too shallow an angle?

I went to Brocky for the first time in years.

On exiting at Tulse Hill gate though, some twats fired a rocket from the Tulse Hill Estate that exploded over everyone crossing the road.

Twats

southwark park is quite a big park, quite a big park with quite big open areas.

so they decided to set the fireworks off by the most tree infested part of bermondsey  :D

the other boroughs must be pissing themselves at southwark's effort :D

nice photo.

Thinking about it - if they did it in the other bit of the park, all the football pitches would get churned up.

Victoria Park was a bit crap - the first half hour was spent watching some fairly dull morality play with a mechanical tiger, I wish they'd ditched that and sent up a few more rockets tbh.

That was possibly the greatest play ever! , it was pretty dull hey! but the washing machine gag livened it up doncha think? :)

There was a fair bonfire going behind Pub on the Park when we went past.

Yeah in the end ,I went there after Vicky park (which yes was a bit dull, nice tiger though) nice fireworks at least.

Well I went to Brockwell Park and it was brilliant! And a bit touching :o
Forty minutes of constant, spectacular fireworks in the company of my fab mate and her fab daughter, no troublemakers and Speedy Noodle afterwards. What more could a girl want? I really, really enjoyed myself.

How are you getting to Southwark Park?

Just seen this :o

We went on the tube and to DynamicBaddog's birthday drinks on the way (at the excellent Wibbley Wobbley pub on a boat) :).

Yep the Brockwell ones were fantastic weren't they!

It is a bit odd the way both the Southwark fireworks were really amongst all the trees wasn't it :D . Bizzare.

We watched the big display at Tranmere Rovers from our back garden terrace. Much more convenient than having to go anywhere :)

A few photos here (scroll down past the inevitable flower pics)
