fireworks: where are you ooh-ing?

I saw the Brockwell park ones last night. Was very enjoyable. The applause at the end must be the only time anyone ever claps Lambeth Council!

Roll on Southwark Park.

I'm confused :( When is 'fireworks night'. Brockwell park last night? My colleagues told me it's sunday but there are displays tonight? :(

Sunday is official fireworks night. But displays are often on the nearest Friday or Saturday to Nov 5th.

It is 5th November, but as that's a Sunday it makes more sense to have displays on the Friday and Saturday :)

southwark park are doing theirs tomorrow evening - fireworks start at 8.45pm

it bums me off that brockwell park fireworks are always on a friday - it's too stressy!

Just been up to Epsom Downs to view the capital's selection of fireworks laid out before us. Some amazing displays going on - two huge ones in central London and one amazing one over Kingston/Tolworth way that seemed to go on forever. I laughed out loud when two big smilies appeared in the sky. :)

I'm in my lovely warm cost flat overlooking a big firework display in the church garden opposite, plus I can see lots of other displays in the distance .

Nothing like a room with a view

We are cosy warm in the bedroom looking at fireworks all over Forest Hill and Kent :):):)

Aahh :) We can see loads from our roof too - all going off on Tooting and Clapham commons :) I love it when they're really far away and look really tiny!

Blackheath is tonight? I got lied to :( Someone used blackheath fireworks as an excuse not to go somewhere with me tomorrow. Bah.

8.45? That's quite late. Oh well, I'll just have to spend more time in the Wibbley Wobbley.

E2A: Just checked, the fireworks are at 8.45 but there's stuff going on from 7: 'Find your way to the Victorian bandstand to watch some amazing fire driven street theatre, listen to fantastic live music and have a ride on the funfair. '

We're going to the Brockwell ones tonight! :)

And also to the Southwark Park/dynamicbaddogbirthday ones on Sunday eve.

Rah! Can't wait! WeeeeeeeeeeeeeeBOOOM!

How are you getting to Southwark Park?

If anyone was planning to join in the fun at London Fields, apparently the park is already full of police, not sure why but can't imagine they'll let the alternative celebrations go ahead now.

Dear Southwark council,

when organising your fireworks display next year, please remember to take into account that trees can block views.

thanx

I quite liked the music too - don't think they've had any before (?) - but the John Barry 007 tunes were inspired...

They always have the Bond themes as the music for fireworks displays don't they? I reckon there's a single tape, including the Bond theme, Star Wars and the music from Fantasia, that gets circulated to every firework display around the country.

Fairplay, Brockwell park has both the Bond theme and some music from the newer Star Wars trilogy this time around. And, just to please Milesy, they even seemed to deliberately shoot the fireworks into areas unsighted by trees.

southwark park is quite a big park, quite a big park with quite big open areas.

so they decided to set the fireworks off by the most tree infested part of bermondsey  :D

the other boroughs must be pissing themselves at southwark's effort :D

There was a fair bonfire going behind Pub on the Park when we went past.

Victoria Park was a bit crap - the first half hour was spent watching some fairly dull morality play with a mechanical tiger, I wish they'd ditched that and sent up a few more rockets tbh.
