Which nails?

You'd have to scrub your nails too - have you ever seen blokes with black under their fingernails? <shudders>

I prefer to wear mine the way they are right now, which is about a quarter inch long and rounded to fit the shape of my fingers. :)

But when I go back to work I'll have to trim them as short as physically possible. :(

They're bitten really badly - about half way up on a couple of fingers - cuticles half eaten too
Oh dear - I bite mine too, but only as short as other people might cut them with scissors.

Ive given up on mine, they only grow when i dump someone and thats not really a good idea....so they are just clean and shaped!

Mine were too long a couple of weeks ago, until I went for a manicure and had her trim them down to medium length.

I used to bite them as a kid but stopped when I got braces at age 13, because my mouth was so sore. :D

Bit mine till I was 30, then mysteriously stopped. Now about 3cm over my fingers - I eat hair and nail vitamins so they're quite strong. Just clear polish -blood red toenails tho!

AND I chopped a nail with a knife when I was chopping onions for Xmas Day stuffing...bah.

I always look at a lasses nails when I first meet them. If they're immaculte or look synthetic she's not my type. 9/10 I am right: they're too girly. :D

Long nails are plain wrong.

I got told my nails were 'dangerous' at the weekend :D I don't see why the length makes them dangerous, I can scratch regardless ;)

I don't seem to be able to grow my fingernails at the moment - they just break constantly. I expect it's a dietary thing :)

But I have never had manicured nails. I keep them clean and file them if they get too ragged, but only because they catch on things (the other day, I drew blood on my leg from a ragged fingernail!)

I'm a bass player, so I have to have short nails on my right hand, and it would feel wrong to have lopsided hands. It saddens me - I used to love wearing nail varnish. My nails were never really long (like, half a centimetre beyond the fingertip at most - I could never fathom how people with really long nails can type), but they're now too short for nail varnish.

I've made giving up biting my nails a new year's resolution for about the last ten years, but it's not happened yet...

Have you tried bitrex?

I'm probably the last person a lot of my friends would have said that would get synthetic nails.

But that's what they said about me and getting married!

Mine are very long, painted deep purple and have always grown quickly. I'm so used to them being long so it's when they break that I struggle to do ordinary things like typing.
