I like a lot of 80s stuff, and very little from the 70s. Nothing wrong with that.
never liked the smiths first time around, i was at uni, and the people who liked them seemed a bit miserablegot around to liking them a few years ago

Genius, you can almost smell the BO of badly written teenage angst poetry. Utter piss take. Makes me laugh when critics think he was serious.

I didn't like Wagner until I discovered Das Liebestod a few months ago. After that I started understanding a bit better what was going on.
Obviously my comment was very sweeping, of course there are some songs and bands that I like from the 70s. Then again, I never did say that I didnt like anything from the 70s...
One of my all time favourites (the Average White Band) were about then.
Generally speaking, I prefer music from the 80s, and again, generally speaking, I dont like music from the 70s.
