Black or red is probably best.
It's really difficult to buy dresses online and I would advise against it. You need to go out and try things on so you can see what accessories you could add like a belt or whatever to make it sit right.

your tiki dress pretty much fits the bill too spangles - i think they have that in red/black too (i think the style is called 'greta' on pin up girl clothing)

I love the sweetheart neckline on the Lepore dress and with shipping and whatnot the Debenham's one would be more expensive for me, I suspect.
I might get the Lepore dress one of these days. The thing is, though, that I don't really need a silk evening dress.
I need "smart casual" clothes for day wear that aren't yoga/workout gear. Maybe even a pair of trousers of which I own NONE that I like.

Maybe. Tunics are not so good for my build. I do have one dress that's similar to that in shape, but I sometimes feel a little self-conscious in it because it's clearly not intended for someone whose ass sticks out quite as far as mine and so it's rather short.
To give you an idea:
5'2"
32 DD
~28" waist
~37" at the widest point, which is not my hips, more like my thighs (or I guess it's also lovingly known as the "saddle bag" area), just below the buttock line (I'm basically pear shaped plus muscle mass)
