Finally there is A Stoke City thread !

Yeah. I noticed your loan signings today with envy. We managed to sign Wright - a 35-year-old crock - to cover at full back and nobody else. I'm wondering how it is that a top of the table side with a recognised manager can so spectacularly fail to bring people in, especially when some of our stated targets ended up going to teams like L**ds.

Well done Stoke! Next time why not try doing it with your own team rather than the loanees XI you currently use.

P.S. Hendrie: mincing jessie:mad:

Now come on Bendy ! Make your mind up

Andy Wilkinson

Not sure about this guy, defensively our first team is best in the Championship so unlikely to be needed barring big injury crisis. But they are two promising young players ;)

As a football fan I am entirely entitled to make brash, contradictory statements with little thought for my previous utterances whenever I want.

Particularly when da timez is hard.

Ithagyew ;)

:D I can't deny you that !!

* Not that we Stokies ever resort to such tactics obviously

Dicko is ace! He grafts very hard, can play enough to get by and is already a cult hero cos he actually appears to want to win games as much as the fans and is upset when we lose. He's a proper 'sign him up' kind of player if you see what I mean.

Was well impressed the other week - he got booked early on and I thought - here we go, ten men soon, cos he's a no nonsense very tough tackler, but he was so controlled, still going in very hard, but only when he had to and nothing even slightly rash. Which shows a very assured understanding of his own position and resonsibilities for a 19 yr old. He is streets ahead of the likes of Danny Warrender and most of the other Prem loans we've had.

FA Cup Draw

Well bugger !! There we are still in the pot with four balls remaining and Chelsea still to come ! So who do we get, Bradford or Millwall ! :(
Still suppose it could have been Macclesfield & at least we're at home !

Go on you Potters !!!

Apparantly Carl Dickinson has gone back to Stokie, but Andy Wilkinson played last night in his place and was MoM.

Dicko will be missed.

Yeah! The injuries/suspensions in defence have started to pile up & Pompey have recalled Griff, glad Dicko did a job for you guys ;)

Nervously awaits January transfer window  A few shrewd buys & loans could see us making a real challenge, just glad we were'nt one of those clubs that made all the running early on only to drop away lamely when the going gets tough ;)

Well just Lee Hendrie to return now and all of our key loans from last year are back in place ! Yay!! Rumours rife about a centre forward as well !! Oh & now we are back in the play-off places after seeing Stoke B [Burnley] off at Turf Moor tonight !! :D

Tonights table:

1 Derby County 29 17 5 7 +10 56
2 Birmingham City 27 16 5 6 +20 53
3 Preston North End 29 15 8 6 +14 53
4 West Bromwich Albion 29 14 7 8 +19 49
5 Southampton 29 13 10 6 +14 49
6 Stoke City 29 13 8 8 +14 47
7 Cardiff City 29 12 10 7 +8 46 :p

Hastily cobbled together loan XI doing well then. You could call yourselves the Barbarians and play exhibition matches.

Hi Bendy, hows things ? :D

Gah! It took a lot of casts before I chewed worm . You've been putting little asides into every other post for the last two months you snidey bastard :p

Anyways. Playing field almost level now. One point in it, squads to roughly stay as they are now through to the end of the season, loanees to be banned by FIFA. Let battle commence!

The City Run in ..........

Mon 09 Apr
Home to Crystal Palace
Sat 14 Apr
Away at Cardiff City
Sat 21 Apr
Home to Hull City
Sat 28 Apr
Home to Colchester United
Sun 06 May
Away at Queens Park Rangers

The two aways are in the bag !! :p

THey're all big games now as they say, but if we can get something out of todays trip to Ninian park then our remaining fixtures offer real hope of a play off place and then I really fancy our chances as all of our best performances have been against the top teams. Still, not getting carried away, been here too many times!!!

Goooooooo-arn you on-loan Potters !!!!!!

Bomber - how's all your ex-Pompey doing :D

Ricky Fuller, Vincent Pericard, Griff and Buxton?

(And technically Hoult, Super Kevin Harper and Diao as well ;))

There doin just fine !! Although harper is elsewhere now, not sure where though ? Fuller is on fire as well !!

Sorry if I'm missing something here, but Stoke and Southampton both have the same number of points and the same goal difference. Why are Southampton in the playoff places and Stoke not?!

Something to with goal ratios or something Chio  Anyway don't worry all will be well after Sunday and we beat QPR. At least one of the other teams involved will draw or lose surely [ ] The Potters time is nigh !!!

I hope so. I'm not the world's biggest football enthusiast, but I do think having a Premiership team in the city would bring prestige and money into the area, and that's sorely needed :)

Good try City, but couldn't manage to scrape anything but a draw. We'll have to find a new bunch of loanees to drag us up next season!

A playoff place even automatic promotion was lost around January when we failed to get in a proven goalscorer and possibly more creativity in the middle. Draws against Southend, luton & Ipswich all at home have cost us dear ! I'm off to follow my local cricket team now ..... no doubt there'll be a new Stoke thread around here come next season !!

Have a good Summer !!!
