Well I can't comment too cos my pc so far has refused to download the darned report, but as it doesn't seem likley that there'll be a general election or a Euro election this year it shoul be easier to keep the expenses down, so don't expect an imminent financial collapse..
just the london council elections...

I think that the 2005 accounts will be (a) more detailed and (b) out a lot sooner. That's cos I know all Respect treasurers have been sent a spreadsheet to fill in details of what they're spending on and who donated, and have been told to get it back damn sharpish in the new year.

i think the absolute minimum required for respect to be able to continue as a registered party is for the accounts to be out at least 6months sooner, and that should not be seen as any sort of achievement in itself, just meeting basic minimum standards that all other parties seem to be able to comply with

as pickman's said, the london council elections have been talked about a lot in the last year by george & co, i was under the impression that a massive push was being considered for this, how will this be funded? (bearing in mind that you can only re-mortgage a house so many times)

turner? naseem?

True it will be a big outlay for them ,but bearing in mind that you can only spend about 1K per seat and the message in most places in stand in one or two seats and do well rather than spread it, there should be less of a drain.
The problem will be that the financial demand is very intense in certain areas like east london.

Bearing in mind that you're going to be running Tower Hamlets after the next set of local elections (see previous posts by RESPECT/SWP supporters on here) that's probaboly going to mean a candidaate in each seat up for re-election - at a grand a time that's lot of money for just one council...
