Films you think are great that everyone thinks are shit

I've been having trouble convincing people that Ghost Dog is one of the best modern films going. I think I need new friends.

Ghost Dog is sublime. Definitely in my top ten. I even bought the soundtrack. :o

Independence Day.

I hated that film. Think the frankly awesome trailer really set it up for a fall.
"Fire at Will!" If only they had.

Rambo I
Rambo II
Rambo III

Rocky I
Rocky II
Rocky III
Rocky IV
Rocky V

I haven't seen Rocky Balboa, and probably won't as I suspect it might lessen my enjoyment of the previous uns :o

Which is - admittedly - probably a hangover from the ROUSING MUSIC and being a teen :D

*ADRIEENNNE!!! ADRIENNNEEEE!!!!*

Oh, and Happiness. Which is a morally vile film which I used to love.

*in dreadful Russian accent*

yoooo lite up mi liffffe
yooo giv me hop

There's something to be said for liking movies because they are bad.

How could I forget Hudson Hawk? Nothing wrong with that movie.

I've seen the Clonus Horror, but can't remember it well enough to comment.

transformers the movie (1984)

was it really 1984? I seem to remember it as 1986

Haven't seen it in donkey's but I remember being so excited when it came out. My dad took me and the older brother to see it at the Odeon in Bristol and it was fantastic

That's a certified classic. Who in their right mind hates Escape from New York ?

Nobody, that's who.

EFNY is bloody marvellous :)

Great and frequently misunderstood film.

Showgirls

The most entertaining big budget disaster ever made. Being a Paul Verhoeven film it's actually very well directed.

...another film that is a favourite of mine which doesn't get much love is the late 70's high fashion slasher 'Eyes of Laura Mars' starring Faye Dunaway

The Blair Witch Project

I absolutely loved it when I saw it, and everyone I knew at the time hated it. I still rate it now - scared the bejesus out of me, and I loved the 'reality' of it. Took me about a year to convince my daughter that it wasn't actually real though - she kept looking it up and finding 'new evidence' :D

I think a lot of people do rather like this one. I think it's one of the best horror films of the 80's and I prefer it to the original.

Yeah, Exorcist Three is brilliant, really spooky. Brad Dourif and George whatshisname  I think the Legion one was Exorcist Two, which is widely reputed to be dogshit, although I don't think I've seen it myself.

Anyway:

Hudson Hawk
Save The Last Dance
Bring It On
Shag
Waxwork

I'm not whether to include Ski School here, because even I know it's shit...but I still love it :D In fact, fuck it: Ski School.
