Films that should have been directed by someone else

Any film by Michael Bay, Stephen Sommers, Tony Scott, Adrian Lyne, Joel Schumacher or Roland Emmerich would have been better if directed by someone else.

Eyes Wide Shut by Jonathan Glazer.

Glazer's last film "Birth" was strongly influenced by Kubrick and also starred Nicole Kidman, so I don't think it would have been THAT different.

Brighton Rock by Alfred Hitchcock.
Stagecoach by Ken Loach.
The Third Man by Elia Kazan.
True Lies by Robert Wise.
I am a Fugitive From a Chain Gang by Fritz Lang.

Yeah, I know - I'd just liked to have seen his take on it... especially the second half.

Lord of The Rings by Scorsese
He'd have put an interesting stamp on it and turned it into a film, instead of a film-of-the-book that cleaved perfectly to all the fantasy clichés.

The Anderson Tapes by David Fincher.

The Taking of Pelham One Two Three by Michael Mann.
Now those would be remakes worth watching

The Great Dictator by Frank Miller/Robert Rodriguez

Yeah I though Guillermo del Toro would be cool, but would be interested to see what Lee made of it. Almost anyone but sodding Lucas to be honest!
