Another one I love is "Pirates" by Roman Polanski - it gets slated by critics but I think its a classic - its got that kind of Time Bandits/Handmade Films feel to it

The Life Aquatic

Watched this t'other day also - first fifteen minutes I almost quit - just didnt get what it was meant to be, but by the end I loved it - its like a quirky updated Tintin adventure or sumfink.

Also the soundtracks is super smashing great

Saw the Abyss for the first time the other day. My god but they really fucked the ending. Just tacked on twenty minutes of a completely different, and terrible, movie.
